Counterfeit notes of the Banco de Nuevo León
The notes of the Banco de Nuevo León were counterfeited in 1909, arousing alarm in the public and engendering mistrust and difficulties for the circulation of banknotes. In December the casa comercial of Antonio Mendizábel in Mexico City received two $10 notes, one of which appeared suspicious, but which they left in circulation. In March 1910 a hardware store received another counterfeit Banco de Nuevo León note, and then a counterfeit $100 note (not necessarily from the same bank) appeared, which the police recovered, together with the person who put it into circulationIberia, Año IV, Núm 1147, 18 March 1910.
